The drive down to Cervantes took us past a Pink Lake (Hutt Lagoon, to be exact). Extraordinary colour:
This is caused by a particular algal growth which produces beta-carotenes when in very highly saline conditions. Details at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hutt_Lagoon.
That was about as exciting as it got on another longish drive to the Pinnacles Edge resort in a tiny town called Cervantes (more later). Checked in (the service could have been more gracious) to another large room with ensuite and kitchenette facilities.
Ate in the resort restaurant, which again was remarkably good. The wind was very chilly, though, and beginning to rise.
Retired to bed, with a trip to the Pinnacles Desert planned for tomorrow.
