Better weather to wake up to today. Decided to forgo breakfast and hit the road relatively early for us. Stopped in Campbell Town (so many British names around here) for a coffee and snack, then headed in to the Freycinet peninsula along a very pleasant road. Lots of trees again……

Got to our destination – the Freycinet Lodge – and were immediately struck with the place. Unfortunately, we are only here for one night, as we have to be in Hobart on Monday night for a very early flight to Ayers Rock via Sydney on Tuesday morning. Plus we have to return the car.

Checked in and got offered an upgrade for $50, which we accepted, and glad we did. Another lovely room with some great views of the Hazard Mountains. There was even an outside bath, which Jean simply had to take advantage of.

Went for a short stroll to Honeymoon Bay, with some stunning views in lovely sunshine, plus a resident wallaby:

As the lodge has a guest laundry, we decided to get the washing on. These things are important, you know……

Had a wander round the main lodge site. Very impressive, plus some great views and a great looking restaurant and bar, which we will be visiting later, you can be sure!

Followed by a really nice meal. Our joint cups runneth over. We both wish we could stay here at least one more night, but no joy, unfortunately. Can\’t win \’em all.

Time for bed, and a couple of potentially nice walks/views to savour before we sample the delights of the Travelodge at Hobart Airport tomorrow. Next phase of our adventure upcoming…..
