Machu Picchu and the Panama Canal

Intro

On Monday, 25th March 2024, we leave our house to travel down to Heathrow, where we will stay in a hotel adjacent to Terminal 5. The following day, we depart for Lima, the capital of Peru, via Miami, for the start of a trip which will take in, inter alia, Machu Picchu, the sacred site of the Incas, a cruise around the north-west of South America, through the Panama Canal from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic, Jamaica, Mexico and Fort Lauderdalee. We fly back to Blighty on 16th April, arriving back home on the 17th.

The package has been arranged by Silversea, well-known (I think) for their high-quality all inclusive cruises, and one of the perks is a chauffeured ride down to the Heathrow hotel on Monday and a similar one for the journey back home.

As usual, the purpose of this blog is to keep track of the experiences of the trip, as, as much as one thinks one will remember, one never does.

I hope you will follow us on the journey. Comments, as always, welcome.
