Woke up to another warm, sunny day. So far, so normal.

However, the mood changed somewhat when I discovered that I couldn’t access my Santander bank accounts – blocked, for no reason that I could detect. I had to phone their security department back in the U.K. – at £3.49 per minute!

They couldn’t see why my account was blocked, so I was advised to reset my credentials. This was accomplished with little difficulty, but I am now £29.90 poorer. How to spend money without really trying… Still, it worked, much to my relief, but I, and Santander, are mystified as to why it happened in the first place.

On the way to breakfast, we saw another couple of iguanas.

They were totally unfazed by our presence.

Excellent breakfast once again, followed by an exotic fruits tasting at 11 a.m. Except that it didn’t happen. Deferred to 11.30 for some reason, so we sat in the sun to wait.

When it started, there were some interesting variants on offer. Star apple, guava, dragon fruit, waterlemon (note – not watermelon), and one other pear-like fruit the name of which I didn’t catch. The waterlemon went down particularly well.

Not much happened in the ensuing hours (unsurprisingly). However, we attended afternoon tea once more, which was very good, accompanied as it was by a glass of fizz for both of us, George dancing attendance once again.

Wandered down to the beach to catch the last rays of the sun, before returning to dress for dinner. This simply means a shirt with sleeves and a pair of trousers – I can manage that.

Whilst I was in the shower, the sainted aforementioned George had delivered a couple of G&Ts, totally unprompted. He’s got my number, obviously….

He seems to be taking pride in looking after us, to the detriment of my liver….

Dinner was in the Rhodes restaurant, for the last time during our stay here. A very nice blade of beef and a cracking Italian Montepulciano.

For the first time since we arrived, tomorrow promises to be a full-on day. A comprehensive tour of the island, followed by a meal at the acclaimed Dexter’s restaurant. As we have to make a horrendously early start – breakfast should be delivered to our balcony at around 7.45 a.m. – time to get an early night.
